Its a question of social responsibility. Seven bookies on one high street is now ordinary. These machines attract the vulnerable and the desperate. Labour made an error by permitting these in the first place, they have ended up harming the majority of their own supporters, the working class. Time to put it right and clean up the filthy appearance of our high streets that are now dominated by bookmakers and pay day lenders. What a bright future we have in store for today's youth. Sad, sad situation.

The Bookies with their Fobt machines end up with all your money .A big con ! Never heard of anyone winning £30000 lets say ,but their taking many more times what the lotto takes .Playing the fobt machines is as addictive as can be.Hide your debit card or credit card or the fobt machines will swallow everything you have , and more . That`s what they`re designed to do ! The government is meant to be working for us. No help there !! D`ont try, just do it `keep out of the Bookies` Atb Mike

These machines should be banned from the High Street and confined to casinos where you have to prove age by membership and money laundering can be monitored.Betfred are to base wages on fobt income thereby turning their staff into pushers for this drug.

Really, these things wrecked my well being. I used to gamble but never as compulsive as I have done on these. In all I've lost around £30,000. Please, if they are illegal, I'm sure no one will refund my money. Just ban them!

I used to enjoy a bet on horses, but I dare not enter a bookmakers anymore because the of dreaded fobt roulette which have ruined my life. Nothing would please me more than to see these machines wiped off the face of the earth. They are a disease.

Theses machines are like a legalised form of theft. There is no fairness. the bookies are the only winners. This government needs to act now.

I lost £1000 from a lodger who could not pay his rent due to this kind of betting. I presume betting shops have a duty to stop problem gambling but this obviously did not happen in the case of my lodger.

When a person drinks too much at a bar, the bar tender usually refuses to serve them more drink. When a punter gambles too much in a betting shop, the bookies are more than happy to serve you... Untill you run out of money. These rigged machines rely on shame to operate. Most people who play them including my self will only talk about how much they won, but they will never admit how much they lost because they feel embaressed and ashamed, meaning new punters get the wong information. They banned Heroin and Cocaine in the 1920's with no problems when the population were getting far too addicted, why won't they ban these addictive clearly rigged machines? Because the politicians get bribed by the corporate bookies to keep the laws relaxed.
