Ban the Westboro Baptist Church from the Town of Newton, CT
In light of the recent attack on the children of Sandy Hook Elementary school, which has left the entire community of Newton, Connecticut scarred, the Town of Newton has the right to mourn without disruption from hate groups such as the Westboro Baptist Church. Given the past trends of the Westboro Baptist Church and their public pondering of the idea to picket Sandy Hook Elementary School, it is safe to say that the members of the church will not take into consideration the raw emotions of grief caused by this great tragedy. Therefore, we believe that it is in the best interest of the people and town of Newton to go through any means necessary to prevent the church in question from inflicting psychological harm on the public. It is also in the interest of the safety of the church, as raw emotions are easily manifested into anger, which could lead to the harm of members of the church. In short we request that the organization the Westboro Baptist Church be banned from entering the Town of Newton, Connecticut to prevent any intentional disruption of memorial services for victims of the recent shooting which could cause unnecessary psychological or physical damage to both the community and the members of the church.
