I really appreciate this petition. I mean it seems that since we got "Footloose" we just ran with it. our kids are growing up way too fast and it's our fault and our responsibility to take back control.

Up until the eighties most popular music had 'love' as its subject. What is wrong with these guys?

Signed! This needs to end. The black community doesn't need any more garbage. Don't buy the music, watch the vids, or promote anything similar to this. Let's hurt this industry economically. It can't produce filth without money or an audience.

The song is simple at best with no value to add to anything that we are attempting to do to better the black community. I believe in support, but I will never support anyone who contributes to the destruction of my people.

I considered my self a hip wife and mother of two- a 22 year old daughter and a 17 year old son. However, I often feel challenged when listening to songs with my children. The songs often have a great beat but they are wrought with curses and demeaning language-often targeted toward women and although my children are smart, progressive and intelligent, the beat of a song will usually override some of the worst lyrics and make it into their personal playlists. It's scary and sad that we don't realize the subliminal messages we are receiving from this crap.
