Teaching religion in schools should definitely be banned. Even if you are religous surely you can see that blackmailing religion into young children by teaching them that they will go to hell if they are not religous is evil. Forcing young children into religion before they know all the facts and can make an educated descision on if they want to believe in God is also ridiculous and makes the young children grow up to be bigoted and ignorant.
