It won't be a hardship to business and will make a big difference to the environment.

The use of ALL polystyrene should be banned, but this moves us closer, at least, to improving the environment and our health.

Please ban the use of Styrofoam products in the Albany area. Even when disposed of properly, they do harm, as they do not bio-degrade; and many items just wind up on lawns and in the woods. That which do, are not just unsightly, but are a danger to wildlife.

I will not buy food or beverages in styrofoam. It's not a hard habit to kick, and it makes a significant difference.

Styrofoam is not only bad for the environment, but also ruins the integrity of the food including making it soggy and plastic tasting. Thanks.

Mark your calendar for Monday Night, December 19, 6:30 PM at the Albany County Legislature meeting. Each person is allowed 3 minutes for a statement. If you are not too comfortable as a speaker, you can just state that you support the banning of Styrofoam from all restaurant take out foods and drinks. It's simple! Come to the legislative chambers on the second floor of the Albany County Court House at 16 Eagle Street (next to the Court of Appeals building) in Albany. The entrance is on the back of the building on Lodge Street. Walk up stairs or take elevator to the 3rd floor.

Besides the toxicity in production and disposal, why would anybody eat or drink hot food/beverage out of styrofoam?

There is no reasons for maintaining the use of styrofoam considering it's devastating effects on the environment.

There's no reason for anyone to be using styrofoam anymore. There are way better alternatives for our environment and the costs are not much more.

Polystyrene is a public health hazard at point of purchase and point of decay. Let's get rid of it from Albany County. We'll be protecting our residents, our land, our rivers and our oceans. We will also serve as a model for health and environmental justice to other counties and municipalities.

Great step we can all make to lighten the negative impact on our environment. To add to your positive impact, REDUCE your use -- so remember to carry reusable cups and containers! Try to limit your purchase of take-out!
