Ban Styrofoam (polystyrene) in Albany County

I have been fighting for this ban for years. Please consider the fact that we cannot afford to use these products any longer. About 10 years ago I went into a Price Chopper and could not buy a dozen eggs that did not have styrofoam boxes. Until then paper egg boxes had been fine. in a matter of a few short years this huge industry had moved to the cheaper foam boxes. Today most have returned to paper. The idea that compostable products are too exensive to use is just wrong, when our landfills are so full of this product. Please Pass this Bill.

There is no reason to continue to use styrofoam containers and many reasons not to.

I strongly support the full banning or styrofoam products. The casual use by restaurants for take-out is not necessary. Paper will work well as it did in the past.

I live in Slingerlands and I think this is very important because of the Albany landfill problem

This is important for the environment and spending on garbage disposals.. Considering that there are so many alternatives, let's just ban this!

Getting all plastics should be a key obtainable goal. Our lives, and our children's lives depend upon it. Signing this ban should just be a start.

Avoid excessive waste of styrofoam, paper products and plastic products.

Its still out there!! Price Chopper serves their take out fish dinner in it. Craft stores & gas-mobile shops package food in it as well.

Recognized for leaching styrene, globally recognized as a carcinogen, into foods.... styrofoam also injures wildlife and degrades waterways. Thank you for completing this ban!

I support banning styrofoam. There are viable alternatives that are much less harmful to the environment. Just like smoking bans and improved auto gas mileage, people will adapt to this just fine.
