The cameras which are on the side of the LIE highway have too low of a speed limit. They create excessive traffic and increase the duration of travel, not to mention the pollution both noise and gases onto the houses located on the side of highway. NYC should not look into making sound barriers from concrete for the LIE but green walls and not reducing the speed so there’s more pollution but allow drivers to go uninterrupted without holding them back. We already have lights that are not synchronized at every intersection, why do we also have speed cameras in the middle of the street on the service roads? Only to profit the city that wastes money without the peoples benefits and against their intentions intentions. Service roads are made to help individuals traveling in the direction of the highways not a means for making money and penalizing motorists. People don’t want to spend precious time in traffic and they certainly don’t want to have their hard earned money taken away from them because of low speed cameras who also invade peoples privacy. Make solutions that help the majority NOT ones that create unease, unpleasantry and have no place in our God Given Heaven.

These cameras are designed to increase the cost of driving and make living in NYC harder than it already is. Additionally, they are operational 24 hours a day. There are no children going to school in the middle of the night. It's clear that this is just a cash grab and it needs to be abolished.
