After the elections of Local bodies in Maharashtra were declared, the political sphere of Maharashtra became a circus. We saw a huge chunk of political individuals overnight changing their political allegiances of years. The voters are confused at the moment. For example, a person we thought belonged to NCP shifted to BJP for his personal benefit (citing ideology as the reason) when he didn't get candidature from there that person within 3 hours joined SS and now he's contesting on Shivsena's candidature. The voters are having a hard time to decide whom to vote because there is no clarity about which individual belongs to which party. This kind of multiple political party change in a short spam is unhealthy for our democracy. We cannot let our democratic values be destroyed for the personal and financial benefits of these handful of individuals. Thus I have started this petition to urge the election commission to impose a ban on any individual to shift political parties after the election code of conduct is imposed, i.e. elections are declared.
