We, the undersigned, advocate for the cessation of the use of "No Red Ink" educational software in language classrooms. While the intent of this software may be to enhance grammar and writing skills, its methodology often perpetuates harmful associations with the color red, which can negatively impact students' mental and emotional well-being.

The use of red ink traditionally signifies errors or corrections in written work, but it can inadvertently create a hostile or discouraging learning environment. Research has shown that the use of red ink can evoke feelings of shame, embarrassment, and anxiety in students, hindering their ability to learn and grow. Furthermore, it may disproportionately affect students with certain learning differences or mental health challenges.

By banning the use of "No Red Ink" and similar tools that rely on color-based correction systems, we aim to foster a more inclusive and supportive educational environment. Teachers and students alike should feel empowered to provide and receive feedback constructively, without the unnecessary psychological burden imposed by the color red.

Join us in advocating for a more compassionate approach to language education by signing this petition to ban "No Red Ink" from classrooms. Together, we can promote learning environments that prioritize the well-being and success of all students.
