Naphazoline is a chemical that, in previous years, has been slipped into medical remedies used on the face and body. While you think that since it is in a medicine it should be perfectly safe, the fact of the matter is that doctors and pharmacists nowadays are in the business for more than helping someone in need. There have been ongoing issues with the medical world not doing what is best for the people, and adding Naphazoline to their medicines only increases health concerns.

CHHA and UEPI are cautioning the public to stray from any medical relief sold in stores. They also would like to caution that some doctors prescribe facial remedies with Naphazoline in them. The consequences for coming in contact with this chemical compound can be DEADLY. If ingested, it acts as a poison and can kill within hours depending on the amount consumed. Naphazoline is also know to cause pain to the face area. The chemical can cause:

  • burning and itching in the eyes
  • swelling around the eyes and changes in vision
  • chest pain, fast and uneasy heart-rate
  • sever headache, loss of hearing for a period of time
  • hypothermia may occur when chemical comes into contact with children
  • temporary or permanent blindness
  • coma and/or death

To prevent further casualties from this chemical, we have created a petition to make it illegal to use this compound in any form of medicine or pain relief. This petition will also go towards banning this substance from being sold in stores without clearance from the National Health Watch. This will not ban the use of this chemical for experimental purposes by certified chemical groups and/or associations. To end Naphazoline, join the fight and sign here.

If you have any questions on the chemical, itʻs hazards, or why there is a need for this petition, you may leave a comment or contact my email iliahilee@dr.com.
