I am giving a persuasive speech in my Communications class about how there should be a ban on photoshop because it is so degrading to viewers and causes them to resort to negative solutions in hopes they will compare to the "ideal beauty" of the industry. However, their own happy, healthy, real look is what is beautiful.

What I never understood was the point if all it would do is show fake beauty. How do the models feel looking at themselves all perfect? What I hated the most is that girls would compare themselves to those photos. This must stop! It's awful enough being compared to their peers!

I can't tell you how many times I've looked in the mirror and wished I was as pretty as a model. Or that cellulite was a myth. Or that guys wouldn't try to compare me to someone that doesn't exist. These kinds of pictures are unhealthy for everyone involved. It needs to be changed.

I'm sick of everyone thinking only skinny is beautiful. im sick of every lump and bump and blemish being categorized as ugly. if you don't have scars and a little fat or maybe get a pimple , then you simply are not human. I'm sick of girl waking up 2 hours before school to look "perfect" and still feel less significant to their friends. I'm sick of hearing on the news about yet another girl falling victim to bullying about her weight and killing her self. when is it going to stop when every girl is depressed and suicidal. im done with this, take a stand

I have a whole new perspective on this now. But I do wonder is it possible to look like the photo-shopped images.

I hate how women are compared to unrealistic forms of "beauty". It isn't fair. Seeing such things has caused me so many issues, and I don't want my little sister to have to grow up with such awful things around her .

I'm a 15 year old and am excessively thinking about my weight and the way I look. I want to be skinny and fit like all of the pictures I see around me, constantly, and daily. I think, 'if I like the way that girl looks in that picture, so must boys'. It's hard enough that teenage girls have to figure them self out, having to worry about what you look like is what the generation is turning into. I've skipped meals, over-exercised, am constantly looking in the mirror and everything. Trying to apply make-up to make it better. This needs to end. Teenage girls have enough to figure out, and for some it's a rough time. It feels like dead weight that we have to work so hard just to look like something we're not.

YES, please let this be banned, it's horrible and wrong, as a young teenage girl my self I have been on the receiving end of all of this and it makes you feel worthless and disgusted with yourself. This is so wrong and it should come to an end, so the next generation of our world, don't have to grow up with this around them too, but by then, it will be worse.

When I was young, whenever I looked at a magazine, I used to think that the women in the pictures were real. Hell, they looked like angels to me. I could stare for hours because they were so dazzling. I would then look in the mirror and see every freckle, pore, hair, and flaw and wondered why I wasn't like them. I wondered why I was fat, why I wasn't tall, and why I wasn't perfect. They all were, so there must be some way to be like that. But whatever beauty product I tried and however many layers of makeup I applied, I still couldn't reproduce that elegant, glowing beauty. To this day I look in the mirror and tell myself I am nothing, because I'm not perfect like all the fake, photoshopped models.
