Leaf blower usage is based on a false belief that they save time, but i can rake just as fast, as an old myasthenic woman. National careful tests indicate that there is no difference overall between the time taken by leaflblowers and the alternatives.

I missed this petition the first time it went around but signing it now. This is an issue that gets worse and worse every year and it's time to reslove it and institute this year round ban.

I was a founding member of Residents for a Quieter Montclair, the group that managed -- over industry-funded objections -- to get the half-year ban we have now (and that landscapers routinely ignore). It is an outrage that the Town Council is indifferent to this proven -- and avoidable -- health hazard. We are a town where folks go out of their way to buy organic goat's milk, yet subject their children to these pollutants.

there is no outdoor yard big enough in Montclair to warrant this obnoxious noise pollution

Leaf blowers create significant health risks for children and adults. Please ban leaf blowers year round in Montclair.

Gas blowers are a violation of our right to quiet enjoyment of our property.

I walk all over town and the quality of life, from the airborne irritants to the horrid noise, is impacted from the leaf blowers that are used excessively.

I just found out about this petition on Facebook from someone I follow. They linked to it and posted this: A woman in Montclair want a ban on Leaf blowers. She states that they cause noise pollution & kick up dirt & dust. So I guess then that there will no longer be any landscaping businesses in Montclair. Last time I checked, ride-on lawnmowers and walk behind lawnmowers were both gas powered. Those machines also produce noise & dust. She might as well look for an all-out band on all type of home maintenance. I guess that snowblowers will no longer be allowed in Montclair also. I guess the residents of Montclair will have to go out and shovel by hand. When it comes time to clean the outside of your home or to clean the deck or your driveway, I guess Montclair residents will be doing it by hand because pressure washer will also have to be banded. She states that a hearing pollution is bad for her children. I've noticed that people nowadays overprotect their children. It's been proven medically that children nowadays are more susceptible to sickness & infections then children 20 years ago. Stop having your children live inside a bubble. Children are supposed to eat dirt, they're supposed to play in the mud, they're supposed to roll around in the grass and get dirty that's part of being a child. It's also helps build up your immune system. Kids nowadays catch a cold just by looking out the window on a rainy day. So my question is, Is everything he listed on this post going to be done. You can't single out one power tool without banning the rest. Tania
