My horse was a rescue who was on the bridge of being sent for slaughter. He is a sweet, gentle horse, with a hilarious attitude and an amazing demeanor towards children, other animals and the mentally-handicapped. It pains me to think we almost lost this amazing creature.
The slaughter process is far from a humane option. The process often goes wrong resulting in immense pain and suffering.
This is a disgrace to our country... A horrible way to die for these beautiful animals.... They carried us to War, plowed our fields and give us unconditioal love.... Please stop this ... now!!!
The Canadian Government should be ashamed for allowing the torture and slaughter of horses. They are not meant to be meat animals!
this needs to stop. horses werent bred to be killed they were bred to be our friends and long term family members.

This is an inhuman way of dealing with unwanted horses. Let's put a fine on the heads of ranchers who breed horses unnecessarily.
