But what about the people bullied for being homophobic? The people who have no negative feelings towards gays, but are named scum? This kind of bullying is treated as if it's okay. If a person states they do not support gay marriage, people jump at their throats. And the best part, NO ONE DEFENDS THEM. How the fuck is this okay? The bullies are what I'd label scum, not the homophobes. I just thought I'd point this out. Pro-gay rights people probably bully more than the homophobes themselves.

Honestly, no matter how many sign this petition, there will always be homophobes. I don't support homophobia, but isn't it wrong to try and force people to change in a way that suits them uncomfortable? I know plenty of homophobes who don't bother homosexuals. This is basically a argument between two sides, both of which will probably not change their opinions. Phobias are not a choice, and neither is sexuality. Rather than wage war, why not just try to meet at some sort of equilibrium? I already know not everyone will do this, but honestly attacking them isn't going to make them see how loving you are. And same with homophobes, if they have nothing nice to say, then don't say it. I used to be a homophobe, and what changed me was when I SAW the true feelings they shared, just as heterosexuals do, eventually changing my opinion to "love and let love". I wish you all luck with the petition, but forcing other people out to make way for your opinion just doesn't seem right to me. If someone is offending you, report them. Bullying on both sides exists, so be careful on how you treat them as well (this goes to homophobes and homosexuals, just so you know). Just because one side is rude, doesn't give anyone else any right to do the same. Handle it maturely. That's all I really need to say. I probably will never check up on this again, I just wanted to offer my own opinion (which is allowed, I hope?). If you reply to this--- oops.

My only comment to this is that if you changed any referral that you just said from "Homophobic" to "Racist" You paragraph would turn into this. "But what about the people bullied for being Racist? The people who have no negative feelings towards other races, but are named scum? This kind of bullying is treated as if it's okay. If a person states they do not support race equality, people jump at their throats. And the best part, NO ONE DEFENDS THEM. How the fuck is this okay? The bullies are what I'd label scum, not the racists. I just thought I'd point this out. Pro-race rights people probably bully more than the racists themselves." Of course, that is for a general idea of what it was you just said. If we take that paragraph there, and if this was a race issue, then you would be slapped with the "Racist label." So why would being slapped with the "Homophobic" label be any different? Granted, sexuality =/= race, though they both are fundamental elements that contribute to the overall term of "Human rights" and because of that, they share similar ideals, and I just proved that by changing any terminology referring to "sexuality" to "race" in your paragraph here. So, with that said. I am going to address your paragraph here and try and sought out the best I can from what it is you are trying to say here, since I am somewhat at a loss here. Also please do not swear here, swearing is not necessary to be said here at all. "But what about the people bullied for being homophobic?" From what I can see, it is not that they are being bullied, it is that they are being identified as such, it is more that they are being identified as being homophobic. (From my point of view, yes there are those who are definitely on the overreacting end of things due to personal issues that have lived with - Which A: is none of my business and B: not something I wish to drabble on about.- which do resort to bullying tactics against it, however they are already able to be r

As far as I am aware, Chickensmoothie is a website where no bullying for any reason should be tolerated. No, of course no one defends homophobes, because they are trying to deny a large group of humans their rights. However, I sure as heck don't defend heterophobes, in fact I will generally dislike /anyone/ who hates /anyone/ for their sexuality or gender identity (or race, or religion, or etc...). And if someone is homophobic, then they have negative feelings towards "gays." That is what homophobia is. I don't think any humans are "scum," but I disagree with people who try to deny anyone their rights. Since you clearly don't like having people harass you, why would it be okay for anyone to be harassed, at all?

It isn't a petition to ban opinions, it is a petition to ban hateful messages. Basically, we can't change how people think, but on a privately owned website it can be changed to allow what is expressed. Messages that are hateful towards anyone for any reason should not be tolerated on a website for children, as these messages can be very damaging to these children. I know you won't reply to this, but I wanted to post it so that others understand.

May I just add on that it is very uncomfortable on a site where my sexuality is shamed upon by some. And I kow what some of you are thinking, "Then quit CS!". Well, I have until this all dies down. If it doesn't die down, I won't return, but if it does I will. Easy.
