Plastics should be banned everywhere, not only in Singapore. Also the disposable thermocol containers which are not decompsable and are so harmful to nature.

Buy five of IKEA's fantastic cooler bags and reuse them forever. Perfect length of shoulder straps, pockets for bottles, keeps food cold (even more if you use cooler blocks) and washable. So easy and good! (I don't work at IKEA)...

Malaysian states have banned one-time use plastic and have bring-your-own-bag days. For a country many times bigger than us to roll this out,it shows that they think it is a cause for concern and environmental issues need to be addressed. A little bit of inconvenience caused to shoppers is nothing compared to the long term detrimental environmental impact. The government needs to do something.

This, along with disposable styrofoam, needs to be removed from the everyday needs of people. These are totally non-biodegradable. New types of biodegradable packaging is out there and using these as replacements could environmentally bring Singapore in to the 21st century.
