Cigarettes has been a growing problem since the 1960s and it is still an on going problem in today's society. Cigarettes have been known to be the #1 cause of lung cancer and even more serious health problems, we pay more attention to the dangers of marijuana and alcohol but cigarettes are responsible for killing 480,000 deaths per year and nearly 42,000 deaths from secondhand smoke, that averages about 1,300 deaths per day!
Cigarette smoking nearly harms every organ of the body and is the leading cause of death in the U.S. more women die from lung cancer than breast cancer per year. On average a U.S. smoker is put at a higher risk for Cardiovascular disease than a non-smoker, even people who smoke less than 5 cigarettes a day are at risk of catching cardiovascular disease.
More than 10 times as many U.S. citizens have died prematurely from cigarette smoking than have died in all the wars fought by the United States during it's history, if smoking continues at the current rate among youth in this country 5.6 million of today's Americans younger than the age of 18 will die early from a smoking-related disease, that's about 1 of every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger alive today. Quitting tobacco together could cause a great amount of change in the U.S. and just one year after quitting tobacco use the risk for a heart attack is reduced sharply!

The momentum behind this initiative has grown significantly and indicates a clear desire for policy change. It is encouraging to see the public recognize the urgent need to address the health crises caused by tobacco use.

We all know how harmful cigarettes are an How second hand smoke is even more harmful. It’s not right that babies, children, animals and adults have to breathe in cigarette smoke from people who choose to smoke. We don’t have a choice and smokers don’t care about the harm it does to others. I can’t even allow my son to play outside when my neighbors are smoking in their backyard because every time my son is around smoke he starts have breathing problems and coughing fits. If cigarettes were banned the world would be a healthier place for everyone. I know there are many other things that need done as well but his is a start.
My boyfriend lied to me and his that he was smoking cigarettes from me. And it caused us to break up because of his decieitfulness
If you smoke you should be not be able to get insurance, medicad or medicare
Let's do what's right.
I'm signing this petition to help ban smoking and cigarettes in the united states of america once and for all and please help me ban smoking and cigarettes
I am 46. Tired of this. Been smoking since 7th grade.
Cigarettes needs to be illegal and needs to be in the trash let's stop this once and for all

It should've been made illegal right after scientists discovered how bad it is for us. Who in the right mind would make it legal?
