I can't believe cell phones have ever been allowed in the classroom! No wonder kids have no boundaries for when it is/isn't appropriate to be glued to a screen!!

This is an opportunity for kids to learn they can unplug from their phones to connect in person with friends and teachers at school. It also is essential to allow their minds to focus on learning without the distraction!

there is no reason anyone can give me that would make me believe elementary or middle school kids need phones between 9 and 3. They don't need them at recess, they don't need to take photos, they don't need daytime social media access or internet access, they have landlines in classrooms or school secretary office if needed and vice versa if parents NEED to get a hold of kids during the day
The damage it is causing is far worse than any benefit it can bring

Ban them from all school time. Unless used in a direct, short educational context with healthy boundaries.

I believe cellphones should be banned from elementary, middle school and high schools.

It should be a given to pack your phone away when you walk into a classroom. But since these kids/young adults aren't willing/able to live without being connected 24/7, the phones should be confiscated each time they walk into a classroom.
