An older man driving an automatic car lost control and nearly killed my daughter who was inches away when he drove into a wall. He hadn't even seen her. The thing is he had lost control of it. He said he was trying to reverse or break and instead he shot forward hit the opposite haven't veered put onto a road and slammed into the wall of a house opposite. These cars are dangerous. It is easier for older people to continue to drive in automatics as they lose competency.

The automatic transmission uses 5 times the amount of oil during it's service life than a Manual transmission .... they are enviromentally dirty & need to be removed if we are to really be green.

I think it's a sad day when the Shelby GT500 and new mid engine Corvette only come exclusive to automatic, same with Mark V Supra, and GT-R. Sports cars and manuals went together like peanut and jelly, but now any yahoo can just jump in one and think their Paul Walker (looking at you, Charger). Don't get me started on all that infotainment crap, too. I'm teaching my son stick shift in the next few years.

Our modern societies are facing a distracted-driving crisis brought on and exacerbated by the automatic transmission. Not only do I support outlawing, and/or banning automatic transmissions, I support outlawing, and/or banning automotive touchscreen infotainment systems and cruise control. May this petition gain all necessary signatures, and may this be just the beginning to safer roads for us all!

There are times when an automatic could be a viable option such as the elderly or parapalegic, but to compleatly phase out the manual like car makers are doing is just crazy. Especialy in trucks and sport cars. They should never even be offered in an automatic. Just becasue people are to lazy or uncoridinated to shift gears.

Autos were originally made for handicapped or people with the need of special assistance, but now more and more able bodied people are driving it, what's more is that they use their phones while driving. This kind of thing can hardly be prevented by law enforcement to test and drive, so we are better off banning auto so people can't easily get distracted from driving

We need to limit the gears to 3 max as well. But this is a step in the right direction.
