Cruise ships have been a major source of transmission and it's insane to invite them into our island. I work in healthcare and I'd appreciate if the risk was minimized and contained so residents of Vancouver Island and my colleagues and I are aren't put in harms way unnecessarily.

Cruise ships are no longer safe havens. I highly recommend that all cruise ships not be allowed to enter Victoria in hope's to save lives on the Island by not putting us in danger until the pandemic is no longer a threat.

It’s ridiculous that we have people in positions of responsibility who haven’t made the RESPONSIBLE decision to protect us all here in Victoria and that we are actually having to sign a petition to leverage pressure. Stupid politicians. Get with it and care about us rather than the stupid almighty dollar.

Our healthcare system is already put under stress by cruise ship patrons outside of times of pandemic. This is the most likely route of introducing new cases to Vancouver Island. Let’s be sensible about this.

This is a global pandemic. The correct measures need to be taken. This includes stopping the cruise season and banning these ships from coming into port. Our duty is to prevent the spread of this virus and contain it. If we allow the ship to dock and the cruise lines to continue, we are being irresponsible and enabling this virus to spread more rapidly.
