The undersigned residents of the Town of Ballston call upon the Town Board to adopt the proposed zoning amendment that would change the Industrial District to a Light Industrial District, and would exclude heavy industrial activities. We understand that passing this amendment may cause the Town to become the subject of a strategic lawsuit brought by an out-of-town company that wants to locate a heavy industrial activity within our Town. However, the threat of that lawsuit should not stop the Town Board members from passing this zoning amendment, which will protect our local community from the excessive noise, pollution, traffic and hazards associated with heavy industrial activities.
