Please make this happen I hope it includes individuals with a drug addiction. I tried desperately to get my daughter help through the state police and adult protective services. only to be told she is an adult and competent. I am sorry but i do not know any addict that is competent. she also had mental illnesses. Unfortunately I lossed my baby girl Sept 1st 2021 because i couldnt get her help. I would like nothing more that to have this possible so no other family has to go through what we are at this time.

We are in a difficult situation with my parents right now. My mother is clearly mentally ill and is a diabetic. She does not take her diabetic medications regularly. Her mentation is GREATLY affected & she is exhibiting bipolar and psychotic like behavior (I am a health care provider). She refuses all help and says there’s nothing wrong with her. She is constantly abusively yelling at my father, us and others on phone calls. Her words and behavior are out of control because of her uncontrolled blood sugar and mental state. This is an act that would help us get her evaluated and some possible treatment.
Please help get this act approved so that so many others with mental illness can be evaluated and hopefully seek treatment that is so desperately needed for them.

I have a 15 year old who suffers from violent episodes and manic episodes she has been violent toward me and her younger sister but when she’s brought into the hospital for evaluation she’s calm and they release her and she runs away and it starts all over again
We as guardians need the support and help
