As an American taxpayer, I do not wish to fund the bailout of those borrowers who were irresponsible enough to borrow money for properties they could not realistically afford, all things considered. Nor do I support bailing out the lenders who irresponsibly gave these buyers credit. I should not have to pay for mistakes made by people I never met. If the government wants to intervein, it needs to be more focused on the problem and those who caused it, rather than how much 'government' money it will take to solve it.
