I don't believe that all our questions have been answered. I feel that the floor should be opened up and all questions be taken care of. And as far as I am concerned, Steve Starnes should be held accountable as well. Mandy Kenner is not qualified to be in that position. I think if she continues to stay in that position then she needs to have the proper training that is required. It seems to me that it is Steve Starnes responsibility to make sure everyone in the school system is properly trained in their area.

The administration has acknowledged the current level of public interest in this matter. I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the Board of Education to request an immediate public hearing regarding staff qualifications and food safety protocols.

Steve Starnes should be held responsible for this also. He is suppose to be taking care of our schools in Hawkins county school system. But this is Hawkins county and if you expect something good out of our school system, your not going to get it. The school system wasn't great when I was in school and I don't expect it to get any better. Because money talks in Hawkins county

I have 2 children in Hawkins Co. That were served this meat. This lady that allowed rhis action should be more than suspended for a few days. What's to say this won't happen again just to save costs? My child's life and and health is far more important than this woman maintaining this position she apparently has no compassion for.

Its shameful that you would serve meat that is so old to children, and then just "put gravy over it" to hide the stench. Really??? And then just suspend the person responsible for a few days? HOW ABOUT FIRED??? shame shame shame!!!!!

I'm very ashamed of hawkins county! Had this been a parent who would've done this in their home and the school found out about it...that child would've been took away from that parent and charged with child endangerment and child neglect. Criminal charges on the parent! This is no different! 3 day suspension is not long enough! It's down right disgusting!

I do not feel Mandy stood up and took accountability for her actions. 3 day suspension was a joke. I want to know why parents were not informed and had to find out about this on the evening news? Why didn't Mandy answer questions from the board herself?

Fire all involved parties. They may learn a lesson then as opposed to a few days suspended. If it were a parent feeding their child rotten meat, the cops would stick their noses in it and they would put them under the jail. They're lucky my children didn't get food poisoning!!!
