One of the best shows that was ever made. BRING IT BACK. We need to see people reformed, we need progress in this society, and we need scumbags to see that all is not lost and that they too can turn their lives around! There is still a fanbase in 2014. I watched this show years ago with my Dad (A military man) and still watch re-runs and youtube videos of it now.

There is certainly some value that can be drawn from the Recruit Training model if conducted in a manner that is fair, proportional and relevant!. I would add that people making negative comments about the methods used here do need to once again look at the background used as the basis for the training....The 1950s!...The recruit cast selected would never be given an acceptance to undergo actual military training today given their past before hand, maybe after undergoing the Bad Lads training, it might have provided some awakening and they sorted themselves for real, and then finally being able to make the jump into a service for real!. The normal cross section of recruits selected for a volunteeer military, might have a very few of the types of characters found in "Bad Lads" but overall a far far far smaller percentage than what is in the Bad Lads recruit platoons. Hence the era selected for "Bad Lads"..the British National Service Scheme of the 50s where there would have certainly been more difficult and obstinate recruits undergoing training, and as such serves as easy model to use for "Bad Lads"....Overall a good show..regardless of its obvious TV dramatics used....afterall...it was made for TV!
