We, the undersigned residents of Cartersville, seek to modernize local ordinances by allowing a small number of backyard hens (no roosters) on residential lots under two acres. Many nearby Georgia communities, such as the City of Lawrenceville, City of Decatur, City of Chamblee, and City of Dunwoody , successfully allow limited backyard poultry with sensible safeguards, reflecting a growing trend toward responsible, small-scale food production in residential areas.
