PETITION TO QUEENSCLIFF COUNCIL RE POINT LONSDALE BACK BEACH RAMP
We the undersigned object to the design solution of the Back Beach ramp currently under construction, as outline in the image below.
We object because of: 1. the lack of community consultation 2. the way it protrudes out onto the beach 3. the proposed plastic decking material 4. the way it doesn’t fit into the natural environment.
We believe our beach environment is a precious community “asset” and deserves a better outcome than this. We call upon the Queenscliff Council and Department of Sustainabilty and the Enviroment to halt works on the project until a more appropriate solution is created.
Seeing this response makes the long hours of fighting a concrete monolith feel slightly less heavy. We have enough momentum now that the council can no longer pretend we are just a few people shouting at the tide.

Used to love walking down there but this looks like a cheap boat ramp. Not a natural look at all.

Plastic decking on our beach?? Are you kidding me. It will look like a total eyesore in a year.

Complete waste of money. The council never asks us what we want until it is too late to change anything.
