The school board just voted to bring our high schoolers back for in-person learning. My own kids are finally going to get back into their classrooms and I am overwhelmed with relief. Thank you for pushing for this alongside me, but stay tuned as we make sure these plans are …
Portland, ME students grades 10-12 need the same in person class experience as K-9. Our schools are safe, and full remote isn't working. Sign this petition to let the Superintendent and school board know you want in-person learning (not just learning center) two days a week for the rest of the 20-21 school year.
Seeing this grow makes me feel like my kids might finally get the classroom time they deserve. I truly appreciate everyone who helped build this momentum because it proves we are not alone in this fight.

My daughter does much better with in person acccess to teachers and classroom learning. Perhaps not a full 5 day return but no reason PHS and DHS cannot do rotating in person schedules with social distancing measures. Attendance in person to be voluntary for students.

Students are losing out on legitimate instructional time. This puts them at a significant disadvantage as they move forward with their educational “careers”. Does Portland really want to be playing catch up for the next few years because it didn’t plan in the present? We have the room, we should have the funding, it’s time to get these learners back into live classroom instruction.

Implement a plan to get the students back in the classroom two full days of in class learning and during that phase, plan in writing and set a date to increase the number of in class learning days to 3, then 4 then 5 days a week. Other schools have done this. There is no reason PPS should be any different!

Our children's mental health is suffering. The science is there to be safe for all students, including 10-12.
