I agree for additional reasons.
The psychological features of a child wearing a mask is worrisome. Facial expression, learning to read innuendo and inferences from a persons face and seeing in a face who you trust and who you might not trust this is the educational feature absent in virtual learning.

I appreciate your respectful comment. Although the infection rate is high the actual sickness and death rate has declined except for the marginalized.

I’m sorry for your fear. Fear is a stress factor that lowers your immunity. Anger lowers immunity. Unfortunately there is a lot of fear and anger around this issue.
Infection rates are not representative of illness. Asymptomatic infections build everyone’s immunity.
Everyone hopes none of your fears are ever reality. The virus is an illness of the sick and those who neglect their health, obesity is a huge factor as alone it results in diabetes, heart disease, hypertension.
I hope you remain healthy and your school year is successful.

I respectfully disagree. This virus does not just attack people who are "already sick and marginalized". If that was the case, why are healthcare workers contracting the virus and why are they dying? It's NOT selective. In Texas, over 300 children & 600 staff tested positive for COVID-19 (disclaimer- this data is a month old- https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/01/texas-day-care-coronavirus-cases-rising/ ). And the recent news this week about the YMCA camp in Georgia (if you only watch/read FoxNews.com, this was not reported there, Brietbart did report it... https://www.breitbart.com/news/georgia-camp-with-covid-19-outbreak-didnt-require-masks/) KIDS get this. 260/344, ages 6-19, tested positive (see previous article). Not all showed symptoms (only 100 reported symptoms according to aforementioned article).
While the number of deaths may not be what was first estimated, the long term effects of this virus are just emerging. Two peer-reviewed studies recently published in highly regarded medical journals highlight the cardiovascular damage An editorial highlighting the two studies, with links to both studies, is provided below. In one study, they looked at the heart using cardiavascular magnetic resonance imaging in 100 patients who were "recovering" from COVID-19 2-3 months after their initial diagnosis. 67/100 of these patients were NOT hospitalized- they recovered at home. 78/100 patients showed abnormalities in their hearts, independent of preexisting conditions. 60/100 patients still showed inflammation in the heart 2-3 months later!

It’s time to go back and get kids into a routine. We need to proceed with caution and take the extra measures to keep school clean and safe. I firmly understand that I also have to do my part by limiting their out of school activities. I plan on school and home until this virus is under control. We have to at least try to go back. Postponing does no one any good.

i, personally feel that we should go back to school, because we need to be face to face with our teachers to learn better. we need to be able to feel normal again with going back to school. i am aware of all the covid-19 restrictions and all, but we need to learn face to face with our teachers. the computer learning is alright but it’s not really helping

The first 6 weeks of caution in March and April made sense and now we cannot ignore what we have learned, things are not as bad as we thought. The virus attacks people who are already sick and marginalized. The real crime is the poor, elderly, indigent people we have not cared for to the point that they die and go to unmarked graves.

These kids need to go back to school for multiple reasons, but mostly for mental stability.
