This is absolute joke and this poor women should not be forced to pay this money just to et the baby's father on the birth certificate! As if they are not going through enough heart ache. This country is a joke!!

this law needs to be changed. he is the father and his daughter has the legal right to have her parents names on her birth certificate. seems awful to ask a grieving woman to get a dna test to prove to a bunch of pen pushers who her daughters dad is, and to pay!! yet same six couples can sign the certificate when it's totally impossible for both of them to be legitimate parents!! also some woman put anyone's name on birth certificates so this poor woman should be treated better!

if the childs father was there all the way through, was at the birth and loved and got to spend a limited time with her do you not think it she should have her fathers name in not only respect to her father but for her as well as his name and his blood is all she has of him. i think it would be highly immoral not to honor her his name!.. good luck with getting this ludicrous law changed. she is beautiful and deserves her fathers surname x

shocking they won't automatically put him on. his girlfriend and family all want it.. understandable if family was contesting it but this is part of their son and his baby deserves to have her daddy's name x good luck
I think it is disgusting that Sarah wasn't allowed to put David's name on the certificate. As if they haven't been through enough already, I think David Cameron should get off his back side and do something about it for the poor family. I really do hope it gets sorted soon for his baby Daughter and the rest of his family. As for the DNA test, that money should be waved, in cases like this or get Jeremy Kyle to do 1 for Free, I don't think he'll mind - he does it for almost everyone else, plus ITV can afford it. Good Luck to the family.
