It's not there fault a tragedy happened and took the wee girls daddy.He would have been there himself to register his daughters birth

In a world where too often, fathers do anything to avoid having their name on a birth certificate, it is an absolute disgrace that this little girl is being denied her birthright. I can, however, see the danger or possible legality issues of someone just saying that a male is the father, but that is clearly not the case here,

Why should this grieving mother have to pay 4k to have her babies father name put on the certificate

the family has been through enough heartache. Let the baby have her dads name. Every child has the right to have both parents on the birth certificate. It's not the baby's fault. She's going to grow up without her doting dad.

the law should be changed for circumstances like this, the young man's family are going through enough without this to deal with also. I hope the situation works out for all involved x

This is absolutely ridiculous! All because they werent married, the baby cant have her fathers name, because he wasnt there. All these legalities amd red tape stuff more than annoys and infuriates me. They knew who the dad to their baby was , so surely that can be enough. This poor woman has enought o deal with, with the death of her partner, without all this. The law seriously needs to be changed as this makes no sense, and all it does is cause even more grief to the mum, which will then affect her baby. The baby doesnt deserve for her mum to be so stressed.

I find this absolutely disgusting what honestly should you have to prove in reality?? I can't believe it could happen point blank. It just shows you how doc and messed up our justice system is.
