Award Disability Benefit (PIP) to cancer patients soon after diagnosis

it's disgusting that people who are diagnosed with cancer have to wait for payments for up to three to six months. When a diagnosis is made it turns the patient and their families life into turmoil. The last thing people need to be worrying about in the beginning is financial difficulties as well as their own health and treatment should that be an option for them. In the timescale given the patient could have died waiting for payment. So to all the buracrts & policy makers think if this was you or a member of your immediate family or a friend wouldn't you want the best for them at a very emotional, stressful time in their life having being diagnosed with a life threatening illness, I'm sure the answer to that is most definitely yes.

my mum had to deal with this while going through chemo, absolute nightmare and no one should have to stress about money when they are that sick.

The stress of waiting for these payments is making people sicker. Just give them the support they need right away.
