The disclosure scheme was introduced to "increase overall transparency and inform the public about the financial dealings of political parties, candidates and others involved in the electoral process." Therefore, transparency on investments that may affect future policy relating to Australia's largest and most valuable asset class (land), requires that we have full disclosure of negative geared properties owned by politicians.
