Halal is unfair price inflation that has nothing to do with informing Muslims what they are permitted to ingest. They already know and many, perhaps most, halal certified products are not labelled as such. Non edible products like toiletries, cosmetics and plastic containers are also halal certified. There is no way of knowing where the funds extorted via halal are going. They could well be funding terrorism. Numerous transportation companies have been forced to pay halal certification so that their businesses didn't collapse.

It is in effect a religious Islamic tax that I shouldn't have to pay for. What's more, halal certification also promotes Cruelty and Torture to animals. As an animal lover and a vegetarian this practice disgusts me and I refuse to pay for any products that endorse this. The people that want this so called ‘halal certification’ are a very small minority, roughly 2% of the population. Why should the other 98% of Australia want and have to finance Islamic activities by purchasing halal products? Islam, it has no legal code other than the sharia, which is enforced without mercy. This law includes teaching young children Jihad (terrorism) from an early age, honour killings, stoning people to death, amputation of limbs and forced child marriages. By endorsing this ridiculous certification and making the Australian consumers purchase halal products are honoring and encouraging sharia law. I am appalled and sickened, and I refuse to finance sharia law and Islamic activities in any way shape or form. Several religions in this country are forbidden to eat anything halal, mine being one of them. So, to cater for a meagre 2% is absolutely disgusting and insulting to the rest of the Australian population.

Up until recently, I associated Halal, with Muslim butchers, bakers, corner stores. But just recently it was brought to my attention that Halal has extended itself to other day-to-day items found on Supermarket Stores..My parents came from war ravaged Poland after WW2.............they came to be Australians, to adopt the Australian way of life. It is an affront to their memory to find "refugees" come to Australia and dictate their terms. My parents, and other migrants came here and contributed to the country we now know as Australia. My father came out to work on the railways, and then later, the Snowy Mountains Scheme, where he suffered an injury which crippled him. Enough is enough..... and I have joined the groundswell of boycotters
