This is a petition designed to raise awareness about the current situation of Asian Football.

Since 2006 Upon joining the AFC, the Australian Football federation has reaped many benefits, and under the impression of many other confederations, has not given back enough to the confederation they have joined.

There are many Associations, particularly from the Western region that have raised this concern, that Australia is taking away a key seat that should naturally belong to them in representing Asian Football on the National level.

This is also true on the club level, where we do not see any Australian clubs competing in any of the stages leading up to the final, creating not only non-interaction and no benefit to the west. But also a huge obstacle designed only to eliminate clubs from the East.

In addition to the feeling that Australia has gotten a free pass on the account of other Asian confederations. The Australians seem very culturally distant from any of the remaining Asian clubs and teams. Their players are mainly European-based, as well as many of their traditions and values that are very different to Eastern nations that form the majority of the AFC.

Australia should return to the OFC where it geographically belongs, and has countries and neighbours such as New Zealand where they can work on their own development in cooperation with each other, and not compromise Asian representation for their own aspirations and ambitions, since they do not represent Asians symbolically on any global stage.

We call on the representatives of Asian Football to immediately find a way to revoke the Australian membership in the AFC, and for them to return bac to the OFC.
