Update: Aureus will be suspending classes/payments for parents who are not keen on online lessons.

Aureus Academy will be switching to online lessons from 27th March instead of proving parents an option to suspend their classes.

Music lessons require teachers to engage a child's interest and respond to every child's input, which is difficult to replicate in an online setting. Every child is different with different learning needs and areas of strengths and weaknesses that a teacher would need to identify and work on.

E-learning platforms flatten a teacher's ability to attend to every child's needs closely. This is especially so for young children. Moreover, it is already scientifically proven that increased screen time could undo many learning disciplines that parents hopes to reinforce at this early age.

Therefore, we hope that parents at Aureus academy should be given an option of whether they would want online lessons to continue for their child or not. If parents are unwilling to go for online lessons, fees should NOT be charged. Fees should only be charged when we can revert back to usual classroom lessons.

Email from Aureus on 25th March

Dear Parents,

Following further updates from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Manpower today, we would like to inform you that all lessons physically conducted at Aureus centres will be moved online, effective Friday, 27th March 2020. This will be the “Alpha” phase of our digital learning platforms, as we seek to have full digital capability in the future.

In order to ensure that our students can continue their musical progress, all students enrolled at Aureus centres will be able to participate in online learning from Friday, 27th March onwards. You will receive an invitation link to participate in the online lessons along with the tutorial one day before your lesson.

In addition to this, we are happy to inform you that all active customers will have all make up credits extended until 31st December 2020, providing you with maximum flexibility.

All Aureus@Home Lessons will continue as per usual, with no disruptions. Our teachers will continue to uphold and maintain all ongoing precautionary measures implemented by the company, in accordance to MOH’s advisories.

Please also note that all Aureus lessons at centres are ongoing until, and inclusive of Thursday 26th March as per MOH's guideline. However, as part of the latest additional measures announced by MOH, we have removed waiting areas at Aureus centres as of today. Kindly note that Aureus parents will not be allowed to sit in their child's lesson at this time, in line with social distancing implementations.

We will continue to be in close contact with MOH and MOM for regular updates and the latest clarifications. Please rest assured that any further developments or changes will be sent out to all parents as the situation develops.

As we are experiencing high volume of calls at this time, kindly drop us an email at [email protected]. Alternatively, lessons can also be managed via the Aureus App.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this time, it is very much appreciated.

For such premium fees, expecting better service. Lots of rumours about this school too. I don’t think its a healthy place for children to grow up.

Most expensive school in Singapore but the students can't even play properly. What a joke. Teachers can't even speak proper English. Can't wait to withdraw my kids from this place.
