As many of the schools are already practicing this, I think it would be nice for summer graduates to be able to walk in May

It is highly possible that people graduating in August would take up a job in another city or state. Rollins can't expect they'd fly back the following May just to attend their graduation ceremony. That would terribly inconvenient.

It's only fair, especially if out of town family members/friends were invited to attend the graduation ceremony before the student realized they wouldn't graduate until August.
