We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador who urge our leaders to act now to allow the use of ATVs’ on traditional trailways (INCLUDING BOGS AND MARSHES) that enable people to get to their cabins, favourite berry picking areas and hunting areas. We are also asking those in government to open their eyes to the needs of rural Newfoundland by allowing ATV use on the sides of roads. The great majority ATV drivers are safe and responsible drivers and most wear their helmets and have insurance on their vehicles. The misuse and irresponsible driving of a few (mostly young people) is casting all ATV drivers and ATV use in a negative light. The media has been doing this for the last few years and never is there any discussion about the freedom and delight that so many people get from their All Terrain Vehicles.
