I just saw on Netflix the confession tapes, I am shocked. If this was our country they where never convicted and NOT guilty.
I believe that they didn't had a fair trial and that makes me sad. When I see how the confession went, they where very young and as a parent you can tell everything at that age and they believed it. I think the legal system in the USA is not so good, how many people are innocent in jail in the USA, it's unbelievable. I hoop that the boys will get a fair trail

The judge should have not allowed the confessions as evidence the way they went about getting it was illegal here in US so they did it in canada

Like many others, I have watched the "True East" episode of the Confession Tapes and am appalled by the handing of this case. To the best of my knowledge there is no physical evidence tying these boys to the murders, and the method of extracting a confession from is so controversial as to now be illegal in the States and Canada. Dan Satterberg, as King County prosecutor, I urge you to examine your conscience and reconsider the case.

I have just watched confessions tapes on these boys. I 100% believe they are innocent. This has really upset me to think how poorly this investigation went. It’s not right that they never got a fair trial.

The intransigience of the justice system is overwhelming and unethical. JUST IMAGINE - entire family is brutally murdered .... then you are wrongly charged with it. PLUS - the real murderers are out on the streets (very likely Islamic fundamentalists). Yet, the state apparatus thinks FINALITY OF CONVICTION overrides these two factors. WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR SYSTEM.

There was no forensic evidence that tied these two men to the killing of Tariq Rafay, his wife, Sultana, and their daughter Basma. A confession is not evidence, let alone a confession that was yielded by a sting operation that is illegal in the U.S. This was a brand new procedure in Canada at the time it was used, and therefore, there was too small of a sample size to convince jurors that false confessions could be a real possibility as a result.

What about the investigation of the warning a Pakistanian family was going to be murdered? And everybody reacts differently to some event they can’t really process. I’ve seen my good friend laughed a lot about seeing his family member being murdered jn front of his eyes. It is just a coping meganism your brain can do.

From netflix i see no reason for either conviction. Please explain other details of the case the confessions seem force and as a young person can see the allure of the reasoning of the confession.
