I live in Woburn Street. The inclusion of paid parking for the park would ensure the Alameda car park is even less accessible to residents than it is already. I have attended council meetings and heard councillors state there is NO parking issue in Ampthill. The question I would ask is, do any of them live in Woburn Street and therefore, experienced the difficulties of parking here? Introduce it, but only if you convert the Alameda parking to Residents Only! Please. Having to sit and wait, or leave your car in Waitrose for as long as you can, just to access your own home, is totally unacceptable.

Parkside Hall car park will need barriers and also the Courthouse.
Also Ampthill residents already fund the park. and if they are seriously thinking of giving permits to residents - at what cost would that be, I hope the full cost of collection is taken into account.

Great place to walk dog and take children. Often use the shop. Not sure we would go there if we had to pay parking.

This park has been a saviour to so many people stuck in over the lockdown, it’s due to Covid that the car park has been full.
I don’t think car park charges should be allowed as low income families will not be able to use it daily.
As a mum of two pre schoolers on maternity leave during lockdown being able to come here was a god send, it got me out exercising, it offered respite and was good for mental health, gave us fresh air, my children could burn off their energy and play and gave normality during a strange time. if there was daily charges I would not have been able to use it as frequently.

Why charge for parking in the park when everyone pays council tax which covers the upkeep of the grounds

I live in Flitwick and quite often use Ampthill Park, not only for a walk but also using the facilities at the hub and also attending children’s cricket group during the summer evenings. If I had to pay to park I would definitely be going somewhere else for a walk and lunch and will also find an alternative cricket club for my child.

This is the people's park not the councils. People with limited financial resources use this carpark 7 days a week pricing them out of this facility is monstrous. There is not another facility nearby to match Ampthill park and these punitive fees will deprive many whilst the affluent can soak it up. After what everyone has gone through this year and the consequences of the pandemic which will increase unemployment and have an adverse effect on mental health we need places like Ampthill park without having a stealth tax imposed. Please show some compassion and shelve this unpopular scheme

It's a great place and would be a real shame that parking charges will definitely reduce how often we go there - in much the same way as we now never go to Marston Forest. Will consequently spend less money in the town's shops, pubs, etc.

Ampthill Park should remain free to park and not become a cash cow where the revenue generated does not get spent on the park or in Ampthill generally.

This is a really valuable asset for all local residents and interested visitors from further afield. The fascinating history of the park is easily imagined by people learning about Katherine Of Aragon.

I use this park a lot for walking and would be very disappointed if like Marston I had to pay every time I wanted to walk and enjoy the park. Not everyone can afford to pay every time they want to enjoy the nature around us. Shame if they do this

The park is funded by local residents- if parking is necessary to bring in funds, allow locals to apply for permits to park for free
