As an ampthill resident I use the park several times a week to walk my dog. Unfortunately due to health of my dog, I tend to drive to the park with him as he can only walk so far. Hence implementing parking charges will discourage me from attending. What is the logic behind the charges??

I am a resident of Ampthill and concerned this will force people to park in residential streets or in the town centre

I know we're all short of money, but surely it's the Councils' responsibility to look after its residents. THIS is not looking after us.

Is this yet another plan to stop people walking their dogs in the park because many of those who park there are people who cant walk from the bottom end of ampthill and give their dogs a decent walk.

Please don't introduce parking charges at the park. It needs to be free for all to encourage people to exercise.

There are lots and lots of elderly people who walk their dogs and who could not afford to pay this on a daily basis . Why not keep this free for elderly people and a very small fee for everyone else , no more than a pound .

I live on woburn street. Parking is too hard on our street at the moment without everyone going to the park using our road to park on to avoid the car parking charges. Makes me so angry!!!

Imposing parking charges would significantly impact users of the park and associated amenities - the play area, the football club, the cricket club and The Hub. It would also unfairly penalise visitors to the Town Council offices. Not everybody can walk to the park and it should be maintained as a free amenity for all

Please don’t charge for parking.
It’s a free space for exercising, fresh air and good for everyone.
People with low budgets wouldn’t be able to visit.
The hub will loose revenue.

Some Ampthill residents park in those lay-bys along Woburn St because they don’t have parking at their homes (Park Hill for instance), they’re not solely used for visiting the park. Ampthill is short on parking as it is, so this is just ridiculous.
