ampthill park is a much loved recreation space for local residents of all ages and as such should remain a free place to park, especially during our current crisis where people’s mental health is under strain and fresh air and exercise vital.

Lived in Ampthill all my life i use our park and feel we should not have to pay to enjoy the beauty of the town we live in,will make parking even more of an issue

Very bad idea. This will cause major congestion with free parking being sort elsewhere. This would also mean that a cheap day out would become far more expensive and in these times many families would be left with no other decision than not to enjoy the park.

Ampthill Park is a great place to walk the dog, then have a coffee & cake after. Also, fabulous park for the Grandchildren. Maybe look for other facilities if parking had to be paid for

There is always complaints from the local and county councils complaining about parking on verges and now they want to charge. Look what happened to the charged Carpark past the church, it was too expensive, no one used it and now houses are being built.

There are managed dog walkers particularly older folks who use the car parks daily at less popular times i.e. 07:00-08:00 and 16:00-20:00. Charging these good people would be outrageous.

Ampthill residents already pay higher council tax than many nearby towns and villages for upkeep of park and it would be very unfair to have to pay to park and particularly to pay to park in lay-bys
