I know some of these journalists, I have worked with them closely and know how much they loved those work and the risks they took to keep the world informed about what was happening in Afghanistan. It would be a disgrace if they are left alone when those lives is at serous risk.

Save the Afghan Journalists

I am writing in full support of Afghan reporters and journalists living in hardship and under very difficult circumstances in Turkey recently. Based on my professional assessment, I am convinced that these reporters would face persecution if returned to their beloved Afghanistan. My analysis is based on my nearly ten years of service in the field of media and communications in senior positions with the government of Afghanistan. In these years, I have remained in close connection to the members of media in Afghanistan. It is my firm belief that given the present situation in Afghanistan, both politically and from a security perspective, these journalists will face threats if they return home. I believe these reporters are the finest advocate for human rights and democratic values who deserve this protection.
