State revenue is up over 5% or more of projections. There is no reason not to release these funds. Please, Governor Nixon, release the withheld funds for FY2015.,

i was one of the teens to get escorted out today. Completely unacceptable to ignore this pressing issue.

Shame on Gov. Nixon and his office staff for showing our young people/future voters that they only have time for big wheel adults with campaign donations. Shame on you all!! There seems to be plenty of funding for sports stadiums that can only be used by the few that have money to pay for seats, yet little to no funding for libraries which are available to everyone. Jay Nixon and his cronies have lost my support forever. I am a register voter and I always vote, but this just showed me who I don't want to vote for!!

I am deeply discouraged that our Governor refused to speak with the librarians who traveled to meet him yesterday. While balancing the budget may be difficult, the education of our communities is crucial to our development as a state. Knowledge is power. Do not allow government to destroy our access to information.

We love the MCPL system in suburban KC. We get so much value from books, to music, to events, to computer access and so much more. The librarians know my kids and their interests and will recommend books just for them. Public libraries are an amazingly valuable resource. Please release the allocated funds.

Governor Nixon, please be more accessible to the people of this great state. You are a publicly elected official (yes I did vote for you) to represent the people. I am deeply disappointed and do not understand what possible reason you have for such a poor response on this important cause.

Libraries are the great equalizer in our society.

I'm a MO social worker working with very limited resources to help the families of our state. The library is always a safe haven that we can count on. It is free and a wonderful resource for so many. I'm Guessing it is hard for the governor and many like him to understand how important a free and safe environment is to some families.

As a Master-degreed educator and parent, I am appalled! And increasingly embarrassed to call myself a Missourian.First, education, now public libraries. The first is intrinsically supported by the second. This has to stop now. Missouri is falling farther and farther behind, and our youth is falling behind right along with these under-funded entities.

Libraries are the best bargain for my tax dollars. They need more, not less, resources and support. Anything less is irresponsible on the part of our legislators!

I support state funding of Missouri's public libraries. As a recent graduate of a Master's of Library Science degree and former library employee, I know the absolute necessity of a well funded library for Missouri citizens. Do not hinder our public's access to materials, internet access, and entertainment!
