Taking money from libraries belittles and demeans education and knowledge in Missouri. By cutting the funding of libraries, we are saying that Missouri does not care of about educating our citizens. This is not a positive trend, and should be stopped immediately.

This is an important educational tool for those who still do not have access to the internet and to school children who like to read. Books are the key to knowledge and growth of the mind.

I am deeply discouraged that our Governor refused to speak with the librarians who traveled to meet him yesterday. While balancing the budget may be difficult, the education of our communities is crucial to our development as a state. I additionally feel that keeping appointments is a basic common courtesy to which our lawmakers should be held. http://themissouritimes.com/17153/governors-office-tells-librarians-to-shhh/

You can't put a price on education and learning. The libraries have been there for me whenever my schools wouldn't teach me. Even after graduating school i'm stil learning. I owe all of that to the libraries.
