Ask the City of Camas for more firefighters on fire engines

I live just outside the city limits of Camas for 40 years, this has to happen!!!

I agree we need more firefighters... hopefully this would mean more availability to those of us on the outskirts of Camas/Washougal

Safety is paramount!

Direct Fire Department to apply and accept SAFER Grant for federally funded firefighters for all engines in Camas and Washougal.

I am dumbfounded by the idea that firefighters are being sent out in pairs. This is just crazy.

It is vital to the safety of the firefighters and those they are trying to help to uphold the WA State mandate.

This makes me sick that they are not following Washington State mandate! Sending 2 firefighters and then waiting for the 3rd to save a life. How could you...? If your kids or family were in a fire would you want 2 firefighters waiting outside while your family burned and screamed in pain. I am so sorry for your loss Kathy Nagode of Art Nichols.

There is currently an active fire on Dahlia (CRESA). What if there is another fire or medical emergency? I want to know that my home, friends, and family will be able to receive the emergency services if needed. Not only that, I want to know that our firefighters are working in safer conditions and not having to choose risking their life or career to try to save our citizens and property. Give them the resources to do their job correctly and safely!

Firefighters need to have the resources to do the job they are trying to do! Please help them be safe while they keep us safe!!!

Stand up for your community and safety of your firefighter/medics. You do their job for a week and maybe you may see the need for this. Sitting behind a desk does not compare to what these dedicated men and woman of your fire department do each day. I do have investment in this community, my son is one of your dedicated, hard working firefighters. Would you feel the same way if it was your son or daughter in that truck under staffed?

We want our beloved firemen to be safe. Please hire more of these brave men and women for the safety of us all who live here. May God Bless Them for their bravery!

I live in rural Camas, work in the city of Camas. I feel this is very important

The level of protection needs to be brought up to acceptable standards. Cutting corners on public safety is not acceptable.

As a former industrial firefighter I would love to see this happen and would be happy to help if I could.

We need to give every advantage to our community that our firefighters serve, by supporting this.

The lack of proper funding and resources to meet industry standards and state law, under certain circumstances, is unacceptable. City of Camas leadership needs to listen to the community and act to rectify this matter soon!

I live in Fern Prairie. We must staff up to keep up with growth in our community.

If you don't have the proper equipment to do the job right it generally wont turn out, the same goes for not having the right amount of men to do the job. Everyone's life is on the line here please don't tie your rescuer's hands.

Please add the necessary emt/fire fighters as our local firemen are asking. My family has benefited on many occasions from our EMT's. They've saved my sons life,twice and also saved my sister- in- law's life. Neither would be alive today without our skilled fire department employees. I wouldn't like it if other citizens lives were at stake because of the lack of personnel. I want everyone to have the same benefit as my family members have received. I've always voted in favor of every levy asking for my tax dollars. Do the right thing and add the personnel that they are asking for. You can prevent unnecessary deaths by adding the much needed firefighters and EMT.
