Federal Agency Reps & Officials: Tell FERC to do a PEIS for Virginia Pipelines

Please help save Virginia and Bath County from pipelines!

The 4 pipelines proposed for Virginia - Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP), Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP), Appalachian Connector, and expansion of the Columbia Gas line, would release 209 million tons of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gases into the atmosphere per year - more than 4 times the total emissions from all large point sources in Virginia listed in EPA's 2014 Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. The Virginia Chapter's report recommends the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) consider the impact of those emissions in relation the the US commitments to meet the UN-FCCC Paris Accord and carry out a programmatic environmental impact statement (PEIS) on all projects proposed in this region of the US. The Sierra Club i trust. Dominion i do not. Please request a PEIS. Thank you.

It makes sense environmentally and, I would think, economically to co-locate a single gas line with other utility rights of way and interstates. We do not need 4 separate systems.!

We certainly would not build 4 new parallel interstates. Think of all the land that would be destroyed. Ditto with the pipelines!

It is an act reckless endangerment to consider ANY fossil fuel proposals that destroy our environment, increases green house gas emissions, pollutes our water and air, rips apart communities and uses the extreme forces of eminent domain on private properties for corporate profit. It is an even more agregious theft when multiple pipelines are being proposed. FERC should take a stand for what is right, do their job and institute a policy of using a PEIS system to consider pipeline developement. More importantly FERC should be required to give clean power systems priority.

The pipeline will go through but please listen to the people who live here and believe the conservationists who will help you not ruin a very delicate ecosystem. These mountains are one of our last unspoiled natural areas.

FERC must do a region-wide assessment of the many proposed pipelines to have any legitimate idea of what impact this transportation of natural gas will have on the area.

Sound energy policy mandates the collection and consideration of all factual information available. This is only possible with a PEIS for ALL proposed pipelines.

Dominion has been less than honest in the pipeline process, steamrolling everything that might stand in their way. Say no to Dominion!

Please conduct a regional review to see if we really need any pipeline. If we do need a pipeline, then wouldn't one do? Why does Virginia, a beautiful tourist destination, have to go the way of West Virginia? West Virginia is destroying itself for short term gains. If you have any doubt, go visit. Four pipelines are too much!!

Anything less than a comprehensive unbiased study is irresponsible.

Dominion's pipelines are primarily intended to ship LNG to Asian markets. This is not in the public interest and should not be allowed to proceed. The several compelling reasons to terminate the Keystone pipeline are present to those of us in the Blue Ridge hills. The ACP and the MVP should be terminated immediately.

Please do your job and regulate these pipelines

It is an undeniable fact that clean water is our most precious resource. It seems a crime to place corporate profit before its preservation. The purpose of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is to bring gas to the coast for export. We MUST acknowledge this face and act accordingly!

As property owners in Nelson County, we are appalled at the way dominion power has handled the plans for building a pipeline through our pristine part of the Blue Ridge. We came to the county because of the unspoiled environment. It is a tragedy to put the natural beauty of this area at risk for the profit of dominion power. Existing byways should be used as previously specified by law. Dominion power should not be able to break or redefine laws or rules simply because of their size or powerful lobbying efforts. Those of us who live in the immediate vicinity of the pipeline should not suffer because dominion has not been held to the standard that every other citizen would have been.

Pipeline construction equals destruction from mountains to sea.

You are a regulatory committee. It is right on your title. Protect our lands and homes.

The US Energy Information Administration Annual Energy Outlook 2015, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the US Department of Energy say new pipelines are not necessary.
