Echoing what others have said the role of family physicians is to serve all our patients with empathetic care including the unborn child in the pregnant woman's uterus - we are not called to participate in the violence that abortion represents.

The ethical and medical challenge of caring for two patients at the same time is BEST rendered by a FP who sees the sanctity of both lives! Please do not put blinders on to suggest there is only one life to treat during pregnancy.

AAFP Member. Taking a firm stance on abortion will be nothing but divisive to the AAFP membership. AAFP members carry a wide variety of opinions on abortion and are able to have these views represented by multiple other religious, politicial, or other medical organizations. Given the numerous issues confronting family physicians today, the AAFP should focus on their mission statement: https://www.aafp.org/about/the-aafp/vision.html Payment reform, practice transformation, and workforce changes threaten our very existence. This is the self-imposed mission of the AAFP. I see no comments in the mission statement that support either side of the abortion issue, other than to "achieve optimal health for everyone". Not to be insensitive to the rights of the woman or the life of unborn child. Let AAFP members take their own positions on the issue, not as official policy of the AAFP. If we play into partisan politics, we perish as a specialty.

Please AAFP - STOP supporting the continued DESECRATION and POLLUTION of our land with the BLOOD OF INNOCENT AND HELPLESS BABIES via the Murder weapon called ABORTION!!! Our Good God is a very PATIENT GOD but He will NOT remain patient forever!!!! He will bring judgement on this nation - if we don't REPENT and STOP using ABORTION to KILL and MURDER innocent and helpless babies!!!!!!

Taking positions that are not backed by science, but rather increasingly radical political positions will destroy our organization. The AAFP should remain neutral on political positions that significantly divide our membership.
