I drop my youngest son off at daycare approximately the same time the bus picks up and I cannot stress how unsafe the current situation is. I drive as slow as possible and children are constantly running out between cars. Parents park on both sides of the road, understandably, for pick up and drop off and this causes so much congestion we are unable to pass through our neighborhood in a safe or timely manner.

As someone driving to work during the bus pickup times with two small children in my backseat, I am extremely nervous pulling out onto Chillmark unable to see around all of the people/cars. It doesn’t matter which of the two ways I try to exit the neighborhood.

The bus stop situation is getting dangerous for everyone in the neighborhood coming and going at the time of pick up and most of all drop off. It’s honestly sad that NAPL cares more about the money for an extra mile maximum, then they do about the safety of their students.

I firmly support this. It’s undetstood the bus may not be able to come in the neighborhood for 4-5 stops at it previously did but one extra stop mid neighborhood would be radically safer than the current situation.

I've witnessed numerous close call encounters at the Chillmark-Nafzger bus stop. This has been addressed with parents, the bus barn and the school. It's not a matter of if an accident is going to happen, it's more like when is it going to happen? This is a huge safety concern for not only the people trying to get in and out of the neighborhood during this time, but it's a huge safety concern for the students at that stop! The blind spot that is being created by the congestion of cars causes a major potential threat for a serious accident to occur and the location where the students are all standing will be one of the first projected paths of any flying debris. Something needs to be done! ASAP!
