Vision Festival is a vital program in support of some of the best musicians currently working. It is vital for musicians and audience alike, and needs to continue and be supported. Long live Vision Festival! May it find renewed support.

A round of cheers/applause for the AFA folks for putting on Vision Festival as well as many other wonderful events year round! Vision Festival is a key piece of culture here in NYC and is one of the many wonderful DIY things that make living in this crazy city worthwhile. We need voices like Vision to persist in the face of creeping corporate "culture".

This festival is a bloodline of culture in this city. If you cut it, the body further dies. Arts and culture are of primary importance to any healthy society. Slowly (actually, rapidly now) centers that have been artistic pillars in the city are being forced to close their doors and evacuate as a result of the new trend of corporate values. NY has always been a beacon of light to the world for its vibrant art and music, and the culture(s) that create it. If this trend continues what you will have is a prefab city with no history in its walls, no song to sing... These tenants of artistic heritage need to be preserved, funded and supported as crucial to a healthy survival in this city! In the end, anybody who is anybody has moved to NY because it's "where it's at". That "it" is the culture, the art, the vibrancy and life force of the human spirit made manifest through creativity, the arts. If that disappears all that is left is an expensive boring corporate metropolis. The world will not look to that as a place of inspiration, a place to visit or move to. Instead, it will be views as a land of yesteryear, a place where once upon a time great things happened there...
No art, no freedom, no life, no love... Fund the arts!!!

The Vision Festival is an amazing celebration of Jazz and improvised music, poetry and dance.
Inviting established world renewed artists and younger practitioners to collaborate and celebrate the music in a peaceful celebratory environment this grass roots festival is world renown and one of the last bastions of NYC culture. You cannot afford to lose it.

Why are so many beautiful offerings expected to thrive with low remuneration? Vision Fest needs Vision Funds.

The Vision Festival is too important and beautiful to risk losing! We jazz audiences and aficionados, friends and neighbors must step up and support the arts if we want rich, authentic culture and community to survive in our gentrified, hollowed out husk of a city. The artists themselves are already making grave sacrifices to keep art alive. Those of us who appreciate them, their contribution and sacrifice have an obligation to support them. And we, the audience, must also press funding organizations harder to fund Jazz and all Black art forms fairly!
