Far more deserving candidates that actually expressed courage in the sporting world this past year. ESPN is making this a joke.

Shame on ESPN! Let's be real here...the ONLY reason Jenner is getting the ESPY for Courage is because ESPN wants to get viewers....and more viewers = more MONEY! Jenner is on Twitter asking what HE should wear--You know what he should wear? A big sign that says Lauren Hill deserves the Arthur Ashe Courage Award! If Jenner accepts that award knowing he's only getting it because ESPN wants higher ratings then this world is going to hell---seriously, anyone who thinks he deserves it over Hill has a warped sense of reality as well as no morals. #LaurenHillESPY

Please pick another person that didn't have a "choice" in the matter for what condition that they have! Someone that strived to complete a honorable action regardless of their energy level or condition.

A sex change is a choice and people go through it all the time though not a celebrity like Jenner. Yes people like Lauren face untimely death as well but Lauren did it with determination dignity and courage that inspired us. Jenner was a side show nothing else but a ratings boom. If you think about it the past 2 Arthur Ashe Awards were for gender identity issue (Sams and Jenner). Maybe ESPN is in the market of social engineering now instead of sports.

Bruce Jenner is a joke. Our society is promoting garbage. And forces you to accept it.

ESPN completely missed the ball on this one. Bruce had his 15 minutes years ago.

First off, nothing against Jenner and/or the courage it took to do what he, now she, did. But, come on! If Jenner is so brave and courageous that the Arthur Ashe Award is being given, what do we say about men and women such as Lieutenant Colonel Gregory D. Gadson, Noah Galloway, Jim Kelly, and the inspirational light that is Lauren Hill? I mean, really? These me and women exemplify the words brave and courageous. When you look the words up in the dictionary, their pictures are next to them. But I can see (complete and udder sarcasm) why Jenner is so deserving of this award and all this publicity and they are not. Of course, I'm sure they all could care less and would happily congratulate Jenner on this amazing accomplishment. But it really should be the opposite. And there are hundreds more right behind them more deserving of a Bravery/Courage Award. But I'm sure ESPN knows better. Congratulations to Ms. Jenner, but more importantly, THANK YOU to Lt. Colonel Greg Gadson, Noah Galloway and all our other wounded warriors for their sacrifice on mine and your behalf. We are eternally grateful and in your debt. #HOOYAH And mad respect to the Jim Kelly's, Lauren Hill's and cancer fighters of the world. Your light shines bright. #LaurenHillESPY #FightCancer #RealHero #ESPN #ESPYS #ArthurAshe #military #armedforces #courage #bravery #honor #commitment #BrothersInArms #InsaneCourage #FreedomIsntFree #GotYourSix #LeaveNoSoldierBehind #sports #WarriorWednesday #NeverForget #WoundedWarriorProject

I watched this man dance on Dancing with the Stars & he was amazing! What he has gone through because he served out country is nothing short of awesome! He, other veterans, & those that have been through life changing experiences not of their choosing are the ones deserving of this award. Not someone who chooses to change what God made him.

Lauren Hill was a true hero unlike the PR whore who is all about herself/himself.

I couldn't agree more. ESPN masquerades as a sports network, in the meantime, they have become a political weapon used against the ideologies that made America great!

The courage to make a personal choice and do it publicly is ok. But true courage to deal with life after your courageous choice leaves you with life challenges, because someone took that choice away, is True Courage.

That tranny has nothing to do with courage.
